On September 14, technology media outlet MacObserver reported (on September 13) that during a technical briefing on the iPhone Duo, Apple unveiled six exclusive application programming interfaces (APIs). Notably, the UIWindowSceneActivation interface, which empowers applications to request a secondary window, has garnered significant attention. Apple announced that the iPhone Duo marks its inaugural model to natively support dual-app functionality, albeit with the limitation that the new window can only be activated on the inner screen. Presently, the iOS system does not inherently support the 'dual-app functionality.' For instance, it is not feasible to natively install two distinct instances of WeChat and log in to different accounts on the same iPhone. Based on Apple's technical briefing, theoretically, iPhone Duo users should be capable of simultaneously opening two WeChat applications and operating different accounts independently. Nevertheless, this functionality awaits confirmation through practical testing.
