On September 13, 2026, the “Space Computing Industry Ecosystem Forum,” a pivotal event within the 19th Pujiang Innovation Forum, convened in Shanghai, marking the official commencement of the “Pearl Constellation Initiative.” This initiative sets its sights on the grand vision of erecting a gigawatt-scale space-based computing constellation, with a keen focus on in-orbit validation in domains such as integrated space-ground computing networks and space energy utilization. Following this, it will proceed with the deployment of the inaugural batch of satellites and the realization of large-scale networking, striving to establish, by 2030, a globally encompassing, space-ground synergistic, and independently controllable space intelligent computing infrastructure and service network. Helmed by Oriental Space Computing as the cornerstone unit, the initiative will be propelled forward through the collaborative efforts of research institutions like Shanghai Jiao Tong University and 27 industry chain partners, forging a fully localized technology chain and an independently controllable industrial cooperation system.
