On September 7, Xiaomi took the wraps off its premium foldable smartphone, the Xiaomi 18 Fold, targeting the 10,000-yuan price segment. Official sales kicked off on September 10. This model comes in various editions, with prices starting at 10,999 yuan and the top-tier variant reaching up to 15,999 yuan. On the first day of sales, around 36,000 units were snapped up, marking a staggering 310% year-on-year increase compared to the sales of the previous generation of large foldable phones, and setting a new all-time high for the series. The number of pre-orders for this new device is still on the rise, with the market response far exceeding expectations. Notably, significant enhancements have been made in hardware configuration, hinge technology, and software optimization.
