On August 31, well-known technology journalist Mark Gurman reaffirmed in the latest edition of his "Power On" newsletter that Apple is poised to release its AirPods 5 earbuds as soon as September this year. These will be unveiled alongside the iPhone 18 Pro/Pro Max, a foldable iPhone model, the Apple Watch Series 12, and the Apple Watch Ultra 4. Additionally, Apple has plans to introduce a new iPad mini featuring an OLED display and innovative functionalities by the end of October.
It has been disclosed that the AirPods 5 will come in two variants: a standard edition and a version with active noise cancellation, representing the most substantial upgrade in the product's history. This upgrade encompasses the incorporation of the next-generation H3 audio chip, a significant boost in battery life, offering up to approximately 8 hours of listening time on a single charge, and the pioneering introduction of ear canal temperature monitoring.
