At the keynote session of the 2026 Hongmeng Ecosystem Conference, Gao Tongqing, the Chairperson of the Global Intelligent IoT Consortium (GIIC), officially unveiled the "Hongtu Initiative". Spearheaded by GIIC and backed by Huawei, this initiative is designed to bolster R&D investments tailored to OpenHarmony, offering special development incentives. It seeks to enlist top-tier partners across six pivotal domains: short-range communication, cellular networks, lightweight intelligence, IPC (Internet Protocol Camera), media processing, and industrial applications. The goal is to facilitate the widespread adoption of the Hongmeng ecosystem across a broader range of devices and sectors. Presently, the OpenHarmony community boasts 13,000 contributors and 650 ecosystem partners, with the number of HarmonyOS-powered devices surpassing 80 million units.
