Lu Weibing, Partner and President of Xiaomi Group, recently posted a message to commemorate the 15th anniversary of Xiaomi's foray into the smartphone market. In his post, he took a trip down memory lane, recounting Xiaomi's remarkable journey from its humble beginnings as a brand "Born for Fever" (where "fever" symbolizes the passion of tech enthusiasts) to its current mission of empowering global users to savor an extraordinary tech-driven life. Lu Weibing emphasized that Xiaomi is transitioning from a focus on application innovation to a new era, positioning itself as a global leader in cutting-edge technology, with a full-fledged commitment to embracing AI in the years ahead.
Established in 2010, Xiaomi wasted no time in making its mark, launching its inaugural smartphone just a year later. Today, the company has unveiled its HyperOS 4 system and has already commenced beta testing, revealing the list of models set to receive the update. By 2025, Xiaomi's global smartphone shipments had soared to an impressive 1.654 billion units, securing a market share of roughly 13% and clinching a spot among the top three brands worldwide for five consecutive years. The company's annual revenue and adjusted net profit soared to unprecedented heights.
In March 2026, Lei Jun, the visionary leader of Xiaomi, announced a substantial investment of at least 60 billion yuan in the AI sector over the next three years, with a staggering 16 billion yuan earmarked for 2026 alone. That same year, Xiaomi's MiMo achieved a significant milestone by completing the closed loop of its full-series model matrix. Notably, the MiMo-V2.5-Pro model emerged as a frontrunner, topping multiple indices among global open-source models on relevant benchmark lists.
