On August 13, Omdia's latest research revealed that in the second quarter of 2026, smartphone shipments in the Middle East (excluding Turkey) experienced a significant 19% year-on-year decline, plummeting to 10.6 million units. This marked the most substantial single-quarter decrease since the fourth quarter of 2025. Factors such as escalating prices, supply chain constraints, and geopolitical uncertainties have driven manufacturers to shift their focus from merely chasing shipment volumes to enhancing product value and profitability. Simultaneously, dwindling consumer confidence has led retailers in the Middle East to implement more prudent inventory management practices.
