After a 326-day wait, the iOS 26 system has finally seen the release of its first jailbreak tool. On August 8, opa334, the developer behind the renowned jailbreak tool Dopamine, unveiled version 3.0. This new iteration introduces jailbreak capabilities for devices featuring A12 and A13 chips, running on iOS 26.0 and iOS 26.0.1. This encompasses the iPhone XS, XS Max, XR, all iPhone 11 variants, the second-generation iPhone SE, and the A12 series iPads from the same era (replacing "same period" with "the same era" for clarity). However, devices equipped with A14 chips or newer are currently unable to jailbreak iOS 26, with support limited to jailbreaking iOS 17.3.1 and earlier firmware versions. Furthermore, this update grants full jailbreak permissions for all device models across the iOS 16.5.1 to iOS 17.3.1 range. It's crucial to acknowledge that jailbreaking poses risks, including potential privacy breaches, system malfunctions, and the invalidation of official warranties. Moreover, it contravenes Apple's user agreement. Therefore, ordinary users are strongly discouraged from attempting it.
