In response to the EU’s Digital Markets Act (DMA) and Microsoft’s call for better device interoperability, Apple is working on a new feature that will let users copy and paste content seamlessly between their iPhone and Windows PC. This capability will allow two-way clipboard synchronization without the need for apps to be actively running in the foreground, facilitating smooth and effortless background syncing. Apple aims to wrap up development by fall 2027, starting with a developer beta release. A public version could follow in early 2028, initially available only in the EU.
