According to tests conducted by The Verge, Microsoft's entry-level Surface laptop, priced at $899, has shown disappointing performance. This model, powered by a Snapdragon processor and equipped with a mere 8GB of memory, suffered from freezing issues when only 10 browser tabs were open simultaneously. Over the past two years, Microsoft has persistently emphasized that 16GB of memory is essential for the seamless operation of Windows 11. However, in the face of escalating memory prices, Microsoft has now shifted its stance, asserting that 8GB of memory is adequate for everyday use. Consequently, the company has launched this new Surface model with just 8GB of memory, despite its steep price tag of $899 (approximately RMB 6,400).
