Based on the latest report from market research firm Counterpoint Research, global PC shipments stood at roughly 65 million units in the second quarter of 2026, showing a 4% year-on-year decrease. This downturn marks the first annual decline since the first quarter of 2025. The report points out that the main driver behind the cooling PC market is the persistent increase in the prices of core components, notably DRAM. This price surge has propelled the overall system costs upward. When it comes to individual vendors, Lenovo emerged as the leader, capturing a 25.6% market share. However, its shipments also witnessed a 2% year-on-year decrease. HP faced the most significant slump, with an 8% year-on-year drop in shipments. Dell's sales also took a hit, declining by 6% year-on-year. On the flip side, Apple's shipments surged by 13% year-on-year, and ASUS experienced a 4% increase.
