This year, the domestic smartphone market has witnessed a rare trend: a collective surge in prices. According to our reporters' research, numerous new and existing models from mainstream manufacturers, whether sold online or in physical stores, have seen a general price increase. The hikes range from 300 to 1000 yuan, with some high-end models experiencing price jumps exceeding 1000 yuan. Industry experts attribute this widespread price increase primarily to the sharp fluctuations in memory chip prices. Lu Weibing, President of Xiaomi Group, anticipates that this upward trend in prices will persist at least until the end of 2027. On the other hand, analysts from IDC suggest that from 2028 to 2029, a new wave of smartphone replacement cycles is expected to arrive, potentially revitalizing market demand.
