Recently, Israeli defense company Elbit Systems unveiled a new concept to transform commercial cargo ships and tankers into modular drone carriers for launching and recovering the Hermes 650 Spark fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicle. This drone has a maximum takeoff weight of approximately 650 kilograms, an endurance of 24 hours, and a speed range of 102-222 kilometers per hour.
