According to the most recent research conducted by Omdia, the worldwide shipments of desktop computers, laptops, and workstations experienced a 3.6% decline on a year-on-year basis in the second quarter of 2026, with the total number of units shipped reaching 65.7 million. Specifically, the shipments of desktop computers (inclusive of desktop workstations) stood at 13.9 million units, marking a 1.3% decrease. Meanwhile, laptop shipments (including mobile workstations) reached 51.7 million units, reflecting a 4.2% drop.
