According to Reuters, the Indian government recently announced the abolition of import tariffs on certain electronic components and smartphone parts, including wireless charging modules, displays for automotive and medical equipment, and lithium-ion battery cells. The original tax rates, ranging from 5% to 7.5%, have been reduced to zero, with the policy valid until March 31, 2029. This move aims to lower manufacturing costs for companies operating in India and promote localized production, directly benefiting companies like Apple that are accelerating their presence in the country.
