The DJI EV50, DJI's inaugural vertical take-off and landing cargo drone, braved the harsh conditions of extreme cold, fierce winds, and extremely low air pressure on the north slope of Mount Everest. It successfully soared to an operational altitude of 8,861 meters. Throughout the 12-day scientific expedition, the drone executed a total of 32 take-offs and landings, with a remarkable maximum continuous ascent of 3,730 meters. This feat enabled the scientific team to accomplish, for the first time, precise sampling of atmospheric pollutants in the upper troposphere, thereby bridging the gaps in high-altitude environmental monitoring data.
