According to South Korean media outlet The Elec, Apple has suspended the development of displays for a cheaper and lighter version of the Vision Pro headset, which was originally planned for release in the coming years. Supplier Samsung Display is gradually winding down related panel projects and is expected to officially terminate development in September this year. Previously, Apple had notified at least one supplier to halt R&D on the second-generation high-end Vision headset, instead focusing on releasing a lower-priced model by the end of 2025. However, with Apple's R&D focus shifting to smart glasses, the affordable Vision Pro project has been canceled.
