Nearly three months after its launch, the Apple MacBook Neo has demonstrated remarkable performance, with shipments hitting 1.1 million units in the March fiscal quarter. Notably, the device was only available for sale for approximately three weeks during this period, with a notable surge in shipments occurring in early April.

Priced starting at 4,599 yuan, the MacBook Neo is roughly 45% more affordable than the entry-level MacBook Air. It boasts a premium design and is powered by the A18 Pro chip to maintain cost-efficiency, with the base model featuring 8GB of RAM as standard. Market feedback suggests that its pricing strategy has been highly effective, with demand significantly surpassing expectations in multiple countries, including India. This has resulted in tight inventory levels for dealers.

Remarkably, 44% of the sales were generated in the United States, while in India, nearly 18,000 units were shipped within weeks of its release. The rising prices of Windows laptops, coupled with the MacBook Neo’s competitive pricing, have fueled strong demand. Its robust sales performance may prompt a reevaluation of Apple’s product lineup in markets such as India, where previous iterations of the MacBook Air relied heavily on promotional discounts to drive sales volumes.

Consumer response to the MacBook Neo has been overwhelmingly positive, leading to supply constraints for Apple. The number of new Mac users during the March fiscal quarter reached an all-time high, underscoring the product’s success in capturing market attention.
