On June 3, 2026, Google announced that its Quick Share feature is now compatible with a wider range of Android devices, enabling AirDrop-like peer-to-peer file and photo transfers between Android and iPhone. Previously, Quick Share already supported interoperability with Apple's AirDrop, and this expansion will allow more Android users to enjoy the convenience of cross-platform transfers. Users simply need to enable the 'Share with Apple Devices' option on their Android device and set the AirDrop visibility permission to 'Everyone (valid for 10 minutes)' on the Apple device to easily transfer files. For Android devices that do not support Quick Share, users can generate a QR code to share files with Apple users via cloud services.
