On May 28, 2026, Valve announced that due to rising memory and storage costs, it would increase the prices of its Steam Deck handheld gaming consoles, with increases of up to $300. The 512GB model will rise from $549 to $789, while the 1TB model will increase from $649 to $949. Valve stated that the Steam Deck itself remains unchanged, and the new pricing reflects component costs and global logistical challenges. This is not the first price increase; in February of this year, authorized providers in the Asia-Pacific region already raised prices in Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan due to logistical costs and exchange rate fluctuations.
