The "Is Someone Dead" App, which once captured widespread attention, has undergone optimization and enhancement. It has now been rebranded as the "Is Someone There" peace-of-mind protection platform, with a pilot initiative launched in Nanxing Subdistrict, Shangcheng District, Hangzhou. Tailored specifically for the elderly, the platform boasts several key features. It includes daily check-ins—if an elderly user fails to check in for two consecutive days, the system automatically alerts their emergency contacts. Additionally, it comes equipped with non-intrusive smart bracelets and safety buckles for seniors who do not own smartphones. The platform also offers an SOS one-touch emergency call function, ensuring a response within 5 minutes of activation. Community staff are required to arrive on-site within 15 minutes, and emergency medical resources are coordinated simultaneously. Nanxing Subdistrict has further established a collaborative protection mechanism, creating dedicated profiles for solitary elderly residents. This allows the community to monitor check-in status in real-time and promptly conduct home visits or phone calls in case of any irregularities, forming a dual layer of technological and humanistic safeguards.
