According to the latest data released by Omdia, smartphone shipments in the Latin American region witnessed a 3% year-on-year increase in the first quarter of 2026, totaling 34.8 million units. This growth sustained the record-breaking shipment momentum observed in the fourth quarter of 2025 and carried through the entire year. Within the regional market, Samsung took the lead, shipping 12.9 million units, which accounted for a 37% market share and represented a 9% year-on-year rise. Xiaomi secured the second position, achieving growth for six consecutive quarters, with 6 million units shipped and a 17% market share. Motorola came in third, shipping 4.9 million units. Although this marked a 5% year-on-year decrease, it still held a 14% market share. Honor ranked fourth, shipping 3.4 million units, experiencing a 30% year-on-year increase, and capturing a 10% market share. Apple occupied the fifth place, with a notable 31% year-on-year increase.
