Based on a report from TrendForce, contract prices for Mobile DRAM are poised for a substantial increase in the second quarter of 2026, further escalating cost burdens for smartphone producers. In particular, the average price of LPDDR4X is anticipated to climb by 70%–75% on a quarter-on-quarter basis, whereas LPDDR5X is forecasted to go up by 78%–83%. The two prominent Korean suppliers have embraced distinct pricing approaches. Samsung has chosen to implement a significant one-time price surge, while SK Hynix has decided on a phased increase, with prices slated to be confirmed by late May.
