Samir Samat, who serves as the President of the Android Ecosystem, has made it clear that the native Android system currently has no intentions of incorporating Apple's iOS 26-inspired 'Liquid Glass' translucent effect into its design. Google is set to hold an event at 10 a.m. Pacific Time on May 12, during which it will unveil the latest updates for Android 17 and provide insights into the progress of the desktop Aluminium OS project. The official teaser video, which features Bugdroid with a translucent glass texture, has raised eyebrows among users. In response to these concerns, Samat emphasized that the Android system will not be undergoing a redesign in the vein of Apple's aesthetic. He also highlighted that the Material 3 Expressive visual style, which Google introduced last year, has been well-received and is anticipated to persist in future iterations.
