On May 1, 2026, Pu Deyu, an analyst from GF Securities, forecasted that Apple would employ an aggressive pricing strategy for its upcoming iPhone 18 Pro series. Specifically, the base models of the series are expected to retain their current price points, starting at $1,099 and $1,199 respectively (equivalent to approximately RMB 7,514 and RMB 8,198). Ming-Chi Kuo, a well-known analyst specializing in the 'Apple supply chain', also concurred, noting that Apple aims to maintain pricing parity with the previous generation for these new models. In contrast, numerous Android manufacturers have already hiked their prices in response to soaring DRAM chip costs. To preserve its profit margins, Apple may moderately increase the prices of its high-end iPhone 18 Pro variants. This strategic pricing decision is designed to entice a greater number of Android users to make the switch to Apple's ecosystem.
