Owners of Apple's newest offerings, the iPhone 17 Pro series and iPhone Air, are grappling with unusual charging problems once their device's battery is fully depleted. According to user reports, after the phone shuts down automatically due to a dead battery, plugging it in with a USB-C charging cable doesn't revive the device. The screen stays unresponsive, and no charging indicator appears. Some users have experimented with swapping out the charging cable, charger, and even the power outlet, but the problem remains unresolved. Interestingly, the phone can be turned on seamlessly using MagSafe wireless charging. This issue isn't rampant and doesn't manifest every time the phone powers down due to a drained battery. It's possible that a software glitch or a problem with the USB-C charging protocol is at play. Apple has yet to release an official statement on the matter. In the meantime, users can attempt to keep their system updated, stick to original or certified accessories, and have a MagSafe charger on hand as a contingency plan.
