Recently, the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) called on the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to re-examine part of the ban on foreign-made routers, especially the provision that prohibits approved foreign-made routers for use in the United States from continuing to receive software and firmware updates. CTA, the organizer of the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), pointed out in a document submitted to the FCC that this move may result in millions of routers already deployed in homes and offices facing security vulnerability risks in the coming years.
