Beginning on May 1, 2026, the "Beijing Municipal Regulations on the Management of Unmanned Aircraft" will come into full force. Under these regulations, the entire expanse of Beijing will be classified as controlled airspace for unmanned aircraft. This means that any outdoor flight operations must obtain prior authorization, and flying without such approval is strictly prohibited. Notably, parks and other public areas will not be considered designated zones for drone flights. Additionally, the new regulations explicitly forbid the transportation or carrying of drones and their essential components into Beijing. The Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau urges visitors from outside the city to adhere strictly to these regulations to ensure compliance.
