On April 29, Nikkei Asia reported that, despite Apple’s aspirations to diversify its production base, its supply chain remains heavily reliant on China. While the company has placed significant expectations on India as a production hub, its operations there are struggling to achieve independence without the backing of Chinese teams. Data indicates that by 2025, approximately 22% of iPhones are projected to be assembled in India, with this share expected to increase to 25% by 2026. Nevertheless, during the Chinese New Year holiday in February of this year, factories in India experienced near-total shutdowns due to the absence of support from their Chinese counterparts.
