The 'Beijing Municipal Regulations on the Administration of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles' are set to take effect on May 1, 2026. These regulations specify that the entire area of Beijing constitutes a controlled airspace for unmanned aerial vehicles, necessitating an application for all outdoor flights. Simultaneously, the sale or lease of drones and their core components to entities and individuals within Beijing is prohibited, as is the transportation or carrying of drones and their core components into Beijing (with the exception of existing drones that have undergone real-name registration and information verification, which may be carried by their owners). In light of these regulations, DJI stores and e-commerce platforms in Beijing will entirely remove drone products from their inventory before May 1. Following May, drones will no longer be purchasable or mailable within Beijing. Consumers are expressing concerns over whether they can transport drones in and out of Beijing and whether they can receive a replacement through DJI Care in the event of drone damage. DJI customer service advises Beijing consumers to send their damaged drones for repair and have them delivered to an address outside Beijing, after which they can personally retrieve them. DJI is unable to facilitate the return of drones to Beijing on behalf of consumers.
