Overseas leaker @Vadim Yuryev shared real-life photos of the metal mockups for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max on April 23, 2026. Based on the mockups, the iPhone 18 Pro Max retains the Pro series' square triple-camera layout, but the camera module is approximately 0.8mm thicker than that of the iPhone 17 Pro Max, with a more pronounced bump, making it the thickest primary camera module in Apple's history. It is reported that the increased thickness is to accommodate a new physical variable aperture primary camera, meeting higher-specification optical imaging requirements. Additionally, the iPhone 18 Pro series is expected to be released in September 2026, featuring a smaller Dynamic Island, under-display Face ID recognition technology, and Apple's self-developed C2 baseband chip to replace Qualcomm's chip.
