According to the most recent directive from the Competition Commission of India (CCI), after confirming that Apple has misused its dominant market position in the iPhone app sector, Apple has not provided the necessary financial data and investigation insights as mandated. Instead, the company has merely referenced an ongoing case in the Delhi High Court to contest India’s antitrust regulations. Consequently, the regulator has opted to accelerate the penalty process, with a final hearing scheduled for May 21. Should Apple be penalized based on its global revenue, it could potentially incur a fine of up to $38 billion.
