According to South Korean media ETNews citing supply chain sources, Apple plans to equip the new iPad mini and MacBook Pro with OLED displays this year. Compared to the current models that use LCDs paired with LED or mini-LED backlighting, OLED displays will offer superior picture quality, including more vibrant colors, higher contrast, and purer blacks. The report states that Samsung will supply the OLED panels for these two devices.
