According to Counterpoint Research, in the second half of 2025, storage prices rose significantly, imposing substantial cost pressures on the global smartphone industry, with the low-end market being particularly hard-hit. In the same period, smartphone sales priced below $150 declined by 11% year-on-year. Since OEMs' shipments of low- to mid-end models heavily rely on ODM/IDH, the market downturn caused by rising costs inevitably affected the ODM-IDH sector. Counterpoint Research data shows that smartphone shipments designed by ODM/IDH companies plummeted by 10% year-on-year in the second half of 2025, ending two consecutive years of growth.
