Tomorrow at 12:00 PM, Mastercard China credit cards will make their official debut on Apple Pay. This announcement has been sequentially made by Bank of China, Agricultural Bank of China, China CITIC Bank, and Shanghai Pudong Development Bank. Notably, Bank of China has unveiled a cashback promotion specifically tailored for Mastercard Apple Pay transactions conducted overseas. From April 16 to June 30, 2026, Apple users who link their domestically-issued Mastercard-branded credit cards and utilize Apple Pay for purchases overseas, including in Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan, will be eligible for a 100% cashback on their order amount. The maximum cashback per transaction is capped at the equivalent of $5. Each card is limited to three participations during the promotional period, and the monthly reward pool is set at a maximum of $60,000. Furthermore, Bank of China has outlined two methods for linking cards and has reminded users to ensure their iPhones are updated to iOS 17.0 or later, and Apple Watches to watchOS 10.0 or later. The bank also provided a summary of the card types included in the promotions offered by various banks.
