On April 15, data from Counterpoint revealed that India's proportion in the global iPhone assembly sector has witnessed a remarkable surge. It climbed from a mere 5.8% in 2022 to an estimated 22.2% in 2025. Looking ahead, this share is anticipated to further expand to 25 - 30% by 2026 and 30 - 35% by 2027. At present, Foxconn continues to hold the position of the largest iPhone assembler in India. However, the Tata Group is hot on its heels, narrowing the gap. In 2023, the Tata Group made a strategic move by acquiring Wistron's factory. The following year, in 2024, it purchased a 60% stake in Pegatron's local factory. Based on current trends and strategic developments, it is projected that within the next two years, the Tata Group's share in iPhone assembly will reach the 10 - 15% range.
