In a recent interview, Frank Wang, the founder and chairman of DJI, delved into the topic of the two significant waves of employee departures that DJI has undergone. He pointed out that the majority of employees who leave choose to embark on their own entrepreneurial journeys. Wang believes that such turnover actually contributes to keeping the organization vibrant, with the crucial aspect being to strike a healthy balance.

Wang has come to terms with DJI being dubbed the "Whampoa Military Academy" within the industry and stressed the importance of enhancing the value of talent. He firmly holds the view that to motivate exceptional talent, it is essential to provide competitive compensation packages and cultivate a work environment that values truth-seeking and pragmatism.

Revealing an interesting anecdote, Wang shared that the name "DJI" was inspired by his mother's reference to "boundless love." He also made an observation regarding the job-hopping trends among employees from different tech giants. He noted that employees from internet companies seldom opt to join Huawei. In contrast, Huawei employees have the flexibility to transition into multiple fields, and there are relatively fewer DJI employees making the move to Huawei.

When the conversation turned to car manufacturing, Wang admitted that DJI currently lacks the necessary capabilities in this area. He mentioned that if DJI had ventured into car manufacturing back in 2016, they might have faced numerous challenges. According to the 2026 Hurun Global Rich List, Wang's wealth has soared to 110 billion yuan, placing him at the 175th position globally, a remarkable leap of 570 places.
