The 140W USB-C power adapter that comes bundled with Apple's newly upgraded 16-inch MacBook Pro (boasting M5 Pro/M5 Max chips) is embroiled in compatibility disputes. The connector design located beneath the detachable plug has undergone a change. It has transitioned from an enhanced C7 interface to a thinner, 'pill'-shaped dual-pin interface. This alteration has made Apple's official power extension cords and travel adapter kits incompatible with the charger. At present, this problem has surfaced in markets like China and Australia. Apple has not issued a list of the countries affected so far, nor has it confirmed whether the 140W power adapter sold separately suffers from the same issue.
