On March 30, industry sources disclosed that Apple has approached Samsung Display and LG Display, requesting them to create OLED samples tailored for the iMac all-in-one, utilizing their mass production lines. This move is in anticipation of the anticipated launch of the OLED version of the iMac between 2029 and 2030. Samsung Display intends to leverage its current QD-OLED production line to fabricate samples boasting a pixel density of 220PPI, with the goal of delivering them to Apple in the latter half of 2026. Meanwhile, LG Display is set to undertake trial production using the BGBRG five-layer tandem W-OLED solution, which has yet to be commercialized.
