Recently, blogger Trashbench installed the Arctic WS360 360mm server-grade all-in-one liquid cooler onto a GeForce RTX 3080 graphics card. After the modification, the memory temperature dropped from 104℃ to 50℃, a decrease of 54℃; the core temperature decreased by 26℃, and the core hotspot temperature decreased by 39℃. The Arctic WS360 was originally designed for large workstation CPUs, with a copper cold plate area more than twice that of typical consumer-grade liquid coolers, fully covering the RTX 3080's GPU core and all surrounding GDDR6X memory chips. Due to the oversized cold plate, Trashbench had to custom-make a mounting bracket using 3D printing to complete the installation. In the 3DMark Time Spy test, the modified RTX 3080 achieved the performance level of the air-cooled version's extreme overclocking at default frequencies, with lower power consumption. After manual overclocking, the core frequency increased by an additional 195MHz, and the average performance improved by approximately 9% compared to the original air-cooled version.
