Recently, China News Service unveiled a loan scam centered around mobile phone installment plans. As per the reports, a man, who planned to borrow a few thousand yuan for short-term financial needs, was lured by an intermediary into purchasing an iPhone 16 Pro Max (512GB), priced at 16,318 yuan, via a mini-program on an e-commerce platform. The intermediary assured the man that he would receive a 7,000-yuan refund as a loan once he got the product.
