Apple stated that since the introduction of 'Lockdown Mode' nearly four years ago, it has not identified any device with the mode enabled being successfully infiltrated by for-hire spyware. Apple spokesperson Sarah O’Rourke said on Friday that there are currently no known cases of Apple devices with Lockdown Mode enabled being attacked by such software. This marks Apple's reiteration of the protective feature's effectiveness against government-grade spyware attacks, following its first public statement a year after the mode's launch.
