On March 27 (local time), Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) declared that, due to the persistent pressures stemming from the global economic climate, it has opted to revise the recommended retail prices (RRPs) for the PS5, PS5 Pro, and PlayStation Portal remote play device across the globe. The updated RRPs for the PS5 console will come into effect on April 2, 2026, in the markets of the United States, United Kingdom, Europe, and Japan. To be specific, in the United States, the price of the PS5 will escalate from $549.99 to $649.99. Similarly, the PS5 Digital Edition will also experience a $100 surge, reaching $599.99. Meanwhile, the PS5 Pro (the high-performance variant) will witness a $150 uptick, bringing its price to $899.99.
