On March 26, 2026, space enthusiast Scott Manley successfully completed a moon landing in Kerbal Space Program using a ZX Spectrum home computer released in 1982. Previously, he had also accomplished simulated spacecraft flight using the same device. The ZX Spectrum is equipped with a Z80A processor running at 3.5MHz and features a maximum memory capacity of 128KB. To complete this challenge, Manley meticulously wrote code, compressed data volume, and communicated with a Windows PC via the Interface 1 expansion module and RS232 serial port, utilizing the Kerbal RPC mod for remote control.
