On March 13, Apple announced that, based on communications with Chinese regulatory authorities, it would adjust the commission rates for iOS and iPadOS apps in the Chinese mainland App Store starting from March 15, 2026. The standard commission rate for in-app purchases and paid apps will drop from 30% to 25%, while the rate for small developers, mini-programs, and auto-renewing subscriptions will decrease from 15% to 12%. No new terms need to be signed by developers for this adjustment. Experts stated that this move will reduce operating costs for Chinese developers, enhance consumer welfare, foster a fair competitive environment, and benefit Chinese enterprises in participating in international competition and promoting high-quality industry development. Following the commission rate reduction, the price premium for digital goods and services on iOS will gradually diminish, with related prices expected to decline, potentially saving consumers up to nearly 1 billion yuan annually.
