According to Apple's official repair manual, the MacBook Neo supports the replacement of the keyboard component independently, breaking Apple's long-standing hardware bundling repair model and enhancing device repairability. Previously, users had to replace the entire aluminum top cover along with the keyboard when replacing a MacBook keyboard, as seen in the 2026 MacBook Air and Pro models, where the top cover section includes the keyboard. The MacBook Neo, however, offers separate keyboard and top cover components. Although replacing the keyboard still requires handling over 40 screws, the operation difficulty has been significantly reduced. Previously, the official repair prices for top cover components of MacBook Air and Pro models in the US ranged from $400 to $600. The modular design of the MacBook Neo will save consumers substantial repair costs.
