On March 12, tech journalist Gurman revealed that Apple plans to launch a foldable iPhone this fall, along with an iOS system update that will introduce an interface layout similar to that of the iPad for the first time. According to sources familiar with the matter, the product will feature a foldable built-in display roughly equivalent in size to an iPad mini, as well as an external screen comparable to that of a small iPhone display. Its built-in display adopts a widescreen aspect ratio, differing from the narrow-screen designs of foldable phones currently on the market, which will become its key selling point. Apple's move aims to enhance the device's appeal for video viewing while making it easier for developers to redesign iPhone applications to offer an operating experience closer to that of iPad software.
