According to the latest forecast by Omdia, global shipments of desktops, notebooks, and workstations are expected to decline by 12% in 2026, totaling 245 million units. Specifically, desktop shipments are projected to fall by 10% to 53.2 million units, while notebook shipments are expected to drop by 12% to 192.2 million units. This forecast is based on the sharp rise in memory and storage prices, particularly an anticipated increase of at least 60% in the first quarter of 2026, with potential further price hikes in the remaining quarters of the year.
