On March 5, Neolix, a Chinese company specializing in autonomous delivery services, declared a temporary halt to its routine autonomous vehicle operations in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE). According to Neolix, this decision was taken in alignment with the deployment directives issued by UAE governmental bodies, aiming to safeguard the well-being of personnel and protect team assets. Over the preceding months, Neolix had been diligently preparing for the extensive deployment of its autonomous vehicles across the UAE. A fleet of vehicles had already arrived by the end of the previous month, with all necessary vehicles, technology, and operational systems in place and fully operational. The Middle East head of Neolix mentioned that they would continue to engage in close dialogue with local regulatory authorities and partners to facilitate the resumption of operations at a suitable juncture.
