Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman reports that Apple is set to introduce a VC (vapor chamber) cooling system for the iPad Pro as soon as 2027, in response to escalating performance requirements. Drawing inspiration from the design of the iPhone 17 Pro, this cooling solution will embody an entirely new thermal architecture, specifically crafted by Apple for the ultra-slim iPad Pro. It is anticipated to make its first appearance in the next-generation iPad Pro models, slated for release in the spring of 2027. The system works by using a small quantity of deionized water to transfer heat generated by the chip and evenly disperses it throughout the device. This helps to minimize performance throttling and boost sustained performance during periods of high computational demand.
